Embassy hosts Georgian Literature Series with Georgian Diaspora in Washington

The Georgian Literary Series is an initiative of the diaspora organization “Georgian Association in the USA”. This year, the series is hosted by the Embassy of Georgia. Within the framework of the project, book club meetings are held at the Embassy. The meetings focus on the outstanding works and journalistic letters of the renowned Georgian writer and public figure, Ilia Chavchavadze. After reading the selected materials, a group of readers gathers to discuss the content and meaning of Chavchavadze’s writings.

Ambassador David Zalkaliani attended the opening event and thanked the organizers for this interesting initiative and participated in the discussion of Ilia Chavchavadze’s works alongside the diaspora representatives.

This initiative of the Georgian Association in the USA was founded three years ago. In the past years, book clubs were organized about the famous works of renowned Georgian authors, such as Guram Dochanashvili, Mikheil Javakhishvili, and Nino Kharatishvili.
