As the world reemerges from the COVID-19 pandemic, the Georgian government has been working with the generous assistance of the United States to reopen the national economy and tourism industry in a safe manner following scientific principles.

To aid this effort, Georgia has administered over 465,000 doses of COVID vaccines so far with  roughly 6.2% of the country now vaccinated. These efforts have been substantially aided by the donation of over 500,000 doses of Pfizer vaccine from the U.S. This demonstration of goodwill and friendship is critical in Georgian efforts toward a safe reopening.

“On behalf of the Georgian people, I want to express our deep gratitude to @POTUS & the US government, our main strategic partner, for the generous donation of Pfizer vaccines to [Georgia]. We are all in the fight against the pandemic together,” Prime Minister Garibashvili tweeted after Georgia received the vaccines.

The Georgian government will continue its nationwide vaccination effort and keep ensuring the safety of public health as it continues to reopen the national economy and tourism industry. Through the constant work being done in Georgia and the generous assistance of friends and partners, Georgia is well on its way to emerging from the pandemic.
