Georgia takes 7th place in world economic freedom ranking
Georgia takes 7th place among 82 countries in the index of Economic Freedom of the World, published by the Fraser Institute.
The most recent data available for calculating the index in the 2018 edition of Economic Freedom of the World is from 2016. The index measures the degree to which the policies and institutions of countries are supportive of economic freedom.
‘Hong Kong and Singapore, as usual, occupy the top two positions. The next highest scoring nations are New Zealand, Switzerland, Ireland, United States, Georgia, Mauritius, United Kingdom, Australia and Canada, the latter two tied for 10th spot,” reads the report for the top-rated countries.
Prime Minister of Georgia Mamuka Bakhtadze praised the achievement of the country saying he is “Proud to see Georgia on 7th place in Fraser Institute Economic Freedom of the World 2018 report.
