Each year, the Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts hosts the Middle Eastern Festival, where it brings musical artists from across the Middle East, the Balkans, and the Mediterranean to showcase and celebrate their countries’ musical traditions. On November 5th, 2024, the 16th Annual Berklee Middle Eastern Festival will celebrate the music of Georgia for the first time ever with performances directed by composer Giorgi Mikadze.

According to Berklee, the concert will feature “solo performances, choir harmonies, and instrumental pieces,” as well as a showcase of Georgian dance. Tickets can be purchased here.

Giorgi Mikadze is a renowned Georgian pianist and composer whose work spans various genres and arrangements. Since 2021, Mikadze has been an Associate Professor at the Berklee College of Music. Georgia has for centuries been a society resting at the crossroads of various global cultures, histories, and traditions, and its musical heritage reflects its position as a bridge between worlds. The 16th Annual Berklee Middle Eastern Festival will be an exciting chance to experience Georgian culture like never before.
