საქართველოს საელჩოს მიერ ორგანიზებული ღონისძიება აშშ-ში საქართველოს ელჩმა დავით ზალკალიანმა გახსნა. სტუმრებს სიტყვით მიმართეს აშშ-ის სახელმწიფო მდივნის მოადგილემ დერეკ ჰოგანმა და თავდაცვის მდივნის თანაშემწემ ლორა კუპერმა. საღამოს საქართველოს დესპანი აშშ-ში ხათუნა კვესელავა უძღვებოდა.
მოწვეულმა სტუმრება დამსწრე საზოგადეობას საქართველოს დამოუკიდებლობის დღე მიულოცეს და ხაზი გაუსვეს თაობების მანძილზე საქართველოს თავდადებულ ბრძოლას, და დღევანდელი გამოწვევების ფონზე, საქართველოს თავისუფლების გასამყარებლად საქართველოსა და ამერიკის შეერთებული შტატებს შორის სტრატეგიული პარტნიორობის კიდევ უფრო განმტკიცების აუცილებლობას.
ღონისძიება ქართული კულტურისა და თანამედროვე ხელოვნების კომპონენტებს მოიცავდა.
საქართველოსა და აშშ-ის ჰიმნები ცნობილმა ქართველმა მომღერალმა ნუცა ბუზალაძემ შეასრულა.
სპეციალური მოწვევით, მუსიკალური ნომრებით წარდგნენ თეატრალურის კვარტეტი და კომპოზიტორი ქეთი გაბისიანი.
გაიმართა ქეთი პაიჭაძისა და Art Cross Foundation-ის ქართული თანამედროვე ხელოვნების გამოფენა Rooted in Culture – rootedinculture.art.
ღვინის ეროვნული სააგენტოს კამპანიის – Wines of Georgia – ფარგლებში და ქართული ღვინის იმპორტიორი კომპანიების ჩართულობით (Silk Road Wine, Georgian Wine House, Interbalt Wines and Fine Spirits) მოეწყო ქართული ღვინის დეგუსტაციის კუთხე.
ღონისძიებას 600-მდე სტუმარი ესწრებოდა აშშ-ის სახელმწიფო სტრუქტურებიდან, კონგრესიდან, არასამთავრობო და ანალიტიკური ორგანიზაციებიდან, დიასპორული ორგანიზაციებიდან, და ასევე დიპლომატიური კორპუსის, თავდაცვის, ბიზნესისა და მედიის სფეროდან.

Independence Day of Georgia at the US Library of Congress.
The event, organized by the Embassy of Georgia, was opened by the Ambassador of Georgia to the US, David Zalkaliani. Acting US Assistant Secretary of State Dereck Hogan and Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense Laura Cooper addressed the guests. Deputy Chief of Mission Khatuna Kveselava hosted the evening.
The keynote speakers congratulated Georgia on Independence Day and emphasized Georgia’s dedicated and continuous struggle for freedom. They also highlighted the need to further strengthen the strategic partnership between Georgia and the United States of America in light of today’s challenges.
The event comprised various pieces of rich Georgian culture and contemporary art.
The national anthems of Georgia and the US were performed by the talented Georgian singer Nutsa Buzaladze.
Georgian folk song theatrical ensemble quartet and composer Keti Gabisiani several notable Georgian songs.
Keti Paichadze and Art Cross Foundation presented exquisite and visionary contemporary art project “Rooted in Culture” – (rootedinculture.art), comprising artworks of notable Georgian contemporary artists.
As part of the National Wine Agency’s “Wines of Georgia” campaign, a Georgian wine tasting corner was set up in collaboration with Silk Road Wines, Georgian Wine House, Interbalt Wines and Fine Spirits.
Approximately 600 guests from various sectors, including US government, Congress, NGOs and think tanks, diaspora associations, diplomatic corps, defense, business, and media, were present at the event.
