Ambassador of Georgia to the United States David Zalkaliani presented his credentials to the President Joe Biden on June 13th.
After the White House Credentialing Ceremony, Ambassador Zalkaliani briefed President Biden on the security challenges facing Georgia and reaffirmed that his country is a reliable and loyal partner of the United States in the South Caucasus and broader Black Sea region.
The Ambassador thanked President Biden for his personal support for Georgia’s Western aspirations, noting that the United States’ unwavering support for Georgia’s territorial integrity, sovereignty, and Euro-Atlantic integration is vital at this critical juncture.
President Biden reaffirmed to Ambassador Zalkaliani that he clearly understands the challenges facing our country and expressed support for Georgia’s sovereignty, territorial integrity, and Western aspirations.
After the meeting, Ambassador Zalkaliani expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to speak to the President and discuss the need for increased U.S. support for Georgia. “Honored & privileged as newly appointed Ambassador of Georgia to have a brief meeting with President Joseph Biden. Stressed importance of increased U.S. engagement in our region amid current challenges. Grateful to [the President] for his support for Georgia’s sovereignty, territorial integrity & Western aspirations,” the Ambassador said.
