Biometric Passport for Adults

In order to obtain a passport, it is mandatory to appear at the Embassy of Georgia in Washington DC in person by scheduling  an appointment in advance

The following documents must be presented in order to receive a biometric passport:

1) Copy of Identity Document (passport, ID);

2) A money order in the amount of 50 USD written out to the Embassy of Georgia in Washington DC (list of exemptions);

3) In the case that your name or surname has changed while living in a foreign country on the basis of a registered civil act (Ex. marriage, divorce, etc.), you must present an apostilled document(s) on the basis of which the name or surname was changed or other apostilled notices that demonstrate name or surname change (list of Issuing authorities of apostilles);

4) A prepaid envelope with a return address if you want the passport to be sent by mail.

 

Please note that passports are issued within 45 days after the application and necessary documents are submitted at the Consulate General of Georgia. Passports are valid for 10 years
